• Â鶹Éç is pleased to share that the West Virginia Department of Environment Protection has approved its request for a permit that will allow construction to begin for the new Meadows Elementary School.

We want to thank the community members who took the time to voice their concerns during the DEP permit approval process. Our school district and administration understand and value the importance of public input in such significant projects. We believe the DEP's thorough consideration of the public comments reflects a commitment to addressing community concerns.

  • We would like to add additional context to items 4, 5, and 6 which raise concerns regarding the qualifications of staff inspecting the construction of the two sediment basins (4), the accuracy of the pre-development and post-development flow calculations (5), and the inspection of the dry detention ponds (6).  We are proud to partner with on this project.  Their staff of registered, professional architects and engineers will be responsible for the aforementioned tasks.

Our school district is dedicated to being a good neighbor, and we are grateful for the engagement of our community in this process. The approval of the DEP permit signifies a careful evaluation of environmental impacts and a commitment to mitigating potential concerns.

We are excited to move forward with the construction of the new Meadows Elementary School, a project that will not only provide a state-of-the-art learning environment but also contribute to a healthier and more expansive campus for our students. The school will stand as a testament to our commitment to the well-being of our community, and we look forward to the positive impact it will have on generations of students and families in Cabell County.
